Sunday morning is my favourite morning; even in a residential home you can tell the difference, the pace seems slower, and everyone seems more relaxed.

Activities on a Sunday are less structured, families are popping in and out bearing gifts and flowers, the corridors are full of laughter and love.

Most people have a Sunday morning routine, be it church, washing the car, the weekly food shop or just drinking coffee in their pyjamas.

This Sunday Betty enjoyed her usual routine, she read the papers with a friend, discussing events, and browsing through the magazines. The weather was glorious and so we went for a stroll around the local park, enjoying the sunshine and taking in the sights and sounds.

We walked back to Marham House at a leisurely pace where we made ourselves a pot of coffee and headed straight for the lounge, there was just time to sit back and enjoy a bit of television before heading to the dining room for Sunday lunch.

It was sheer bliss.
