Marham House opened at the start of the pandemic, to us the restrictions are the norm. Obviously, things have improved significantly since the beginning, we now have face to face visits with our loved ones rather than Zoom calls and we have been able to visit local attractions and shops. Entertainers have visited in person rather than coming to us via a screen.
There are some things that are sadly still restricted, and this includes having the local school children along to visit. We have been forging a relationship with the pupils of Howard Primary School albeit virtual and from a safe distance.
This week pupils from years 5 & 6 came up to Marham to sing for us. They gathered in the garden, we gathered in the lounge, and they put on a wonderful performance. They sang their hearts out, we sang our hearts out, it was joyous.
In a time where normal life has been restricted for so long it was lovely to be able to enjoy an event such as this, we were a little sad that we couldn’t invite them in for a mince pie, but they didn’t seem worried by the arrangement, they were probably just happy to be missing maths.
Next week we are expecting a visit from years 3 & 4, we have our fingers crossed that it stays dry. Thank you, Howard Primary School, you really did a fabulous job and brightened up our day no end.
