Who doesn’t love the musical Grease? It has stood the test of time and has been enjoyed by generation after generation. In recent years it has been adapted for the stage to enable theatre goers to relive the days of the Pink Ladies and the T-Birds.
This week is Championing Social Care Open Week, a week during which care homes up and down the UK open their doors to invite people to come along and see what social care is really like.
Anyone expecting a quiet tour of the building and a cup of tea was mightily surprised to be welcomed by our very own Sandy and Danny and led into our outdoor cinema to begin the tour.
The team did an amazing job of erecting a pop-up outdoor cinema experience complete with hot-dogs and popcorn. We even had a classic car to admire.
The event was wonderful and drew some attention from the local radio station, BBC Radio Suffolk, who interviewed Teresa, our manager and Jackie, our lifestyle manager to hear all about it.
The team, our residents and our visitors had a wonderful time, it was a fabulous day and I hope that we showed the local community that residential care homes are about so much more than rice pudding and bingo.
