The weather outside has been decidedly chilly with some beautiful morning frost. I’m not a big fan of being cold but I do love winter mornings and the way that the frost makes the lawn sparkle.
We are not venturing outside much currently; we take short walks around the garden to stretch our legs and take in some crisp fresh air, but we don’t loiter too long. We joked with the team that we wished winters were warmer, then we could enjoy the beauty of the season without getting cold.
With this in mind, you can imagine our delight when we were invited to a snow party in the newly converted Ice Bar.
The walls were sparkling with silver and blue streamers and snowflakes hung all around us. The snowy backdrop shimmered, and giant bubbles floated around the room. The bar was stocked with pretty, blue drinks and there were snowballs on the tables, just waiting to be thrown.
What a spectacle, so pretty, it must have taken an age to set up. We had a wonderful time, there as music playing and gin flowing. We played a fun game of tennis with the bubbles and ducked and dived as a hilarious snowball fight ensued.
The team really did bring the beauty of the winter inside our toasty warm home. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
