This past month the country has seen a reduction in restrictions, in return residents have also experienced a reduction in restrictions, due to this Westhill Park lifestyle team have been able to start to introduce a more varied lifestyle programme. This has included residents being offered the opportunity to get out and about in the community with the support of either their nominated individual or in this case the Lifestyle Team.  

This week Westhill park have enjoyed their first official outing back into the community with the lifestyle team! 

With the finer weather appearing, Westhill residents got back to nature this week with our first official trip back out with the Lifestyle team to Barnwell country park! 

Residents enjoyed a scenic drive through the beautiful country lanes of Oundle before taking in the sights and sounds of the wildlife from Barnwell County Parks, Kingfisher Cafe.

Residents enjoyed sitting outside by the water at the café whilst having a delicious picnic lunch and cup of tea provided by our amazing catering staff. Residents were even greeted by the local wildlife. 

Our residents could not have been any happier with comments such as “We can’t beat the British countryside, it’s all right on our doorstep” and “It’s so nice to be back outside in the fresh air with friends, it really does do something to life your spirits”.

When posting the day’s events on social media, one person commented “So pleased to see your able to enjoy your outings again”.

We know how important it is to be outside for both physical and mental well-being and how much it means to our residents. We look forward to many more trips to come!
