Hydration is so important; most people are all guilty of forgetting to drink enough and then we wondered why we feel less than 100%.
Dehydration causes many symptoms including:
Headache, delirium, confusion.
Tiredness (fatigue).
Dizziness, weakness, light-headedness.
Dry mouth and/or a dry cough.
High heart rate but low blood pressure.
Loss of appetite but maybe craving sugar.
Flushed (red) skin. Swollen feet. Muscle cramps.
Heat intolerance, or chills.
We try to drink our water but let’s be honest, it’s not a very exciting way to hydrate, is it? The team here are always looking for fun ways to help us stay in good health, we explore local parks and woodland to get our vitamin D and keep our muscles moving, we take part in quizzes and word games to keep or brains sharp, we attend social events to ensure that we have plenty of human interaction to support our emotional wellbeing and we enjoy events such as Fruity Fridays to provide us with our 5-a-day in a fun way.
Eating fruit is the perfect way to stay hydrated, most fruit is composed of a high percentage of water, and it is packed full of vitamins and antioxidants and as an added bonus, it’s delicious. Sometimes we indulge in fruit and vegetable smoothies, sometimes we sample exotic fruit teas but this week we devoured a tray of fresh fruit kebabs, and they were wonderful.
